As B.C. wildfires rage, Trudeau cabinet adviser calls Paris Agreement climate targets “aspirational” and “illusory”

“Clearing the Air”, a chapter in the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies-published-book Reflections of Canada, is quoted in this Georgia Straight article. 

In the chapter, Wall Scholar Michael Brauer and Wall Faculty Associate Chris Carlsten point out that nearly 8,000 Canadian deaths each year are caused by air pollution. That exceeds the combined annual total of motor-vehicle collision, suicide, and HIV fatalities. And air-pollution-related mortality can be expected to rise as a result of more forest fires.
