B.C. Farmers retool their offerings to sell more locally

The Globe and Mail interviewed 2019 International Research Roundtable grant recipient Hannah Wittman about B.C.’s agriculture sector and consumer reliance on foreign products. Supply chains have been a major topic of concern amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and local farmers are attempting to adjust to accommodate the desire for domestic, dependable and long-keeping produce.

Wittman is the academic director of the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm. Her 2019 Research Roundtable focused on links between food security and biodiversity conservation through citizen science.
