
Philippe Claeys
Visiting Scholar

Dr. Philippe Claeys is a geologist, planetary scientist and geochemist interested in documenting the consequences of asteroid and comet impacts on the evolution of the biogeosphere, such as mass extinction of organisms or large scale global climatic changes . He currently heads the research unit, Analytical-Environmental- & Geo-chemistry, and the interdisciplinary Earth System Science group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels. He is also visiting professor at Ghent University, Catholic University Leuven and University of Liege.
