Dr. Sharon Stein is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at the University of British Columbia. She is also a Visiting Professor with the Chair for Critical Studies in Higher Education Transformation at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. Her work examines the complexities, challenges, tensions, and possibilities that emerge in efforts to confront and address “wicked problems,” particularly in the context of higher education. In this work, she asks how individuals’ and institutions’ engagements with decolonization, internationalization, and sustainability can be more contextually-relevant, critically-informed, and socially and ecologically accountable. As part of the Academic Leadership Team of the Institute, she will support the Undergraduate Student Fellows.
