An emerging field of scholarship and practice, Critical Suicide Studies seeks to challenge some of the mainstream logics that have come to dominate the study of suicide and suicide prevention.
This virtrual event will provide opportunities for critical suicide studies scholars and other interdisciplinary experts to explore the critical and systemic issues affecting suicide and suicide exposure. Informed by the current context (including but not limited to: COVID-19, racism, climate crisis, opiod poisoning crisis, etc.), the sessions will:
Include diverse perspectives
Suggest key areas for scholarly collaboration
Identify strategies to develop alternative and interdisciplinary approaches and responses to suicide
