Abstract:
In this presentation, I share and perform examples from the various interdisciplinary projects represented in my recently published book Research-based theatre: An artistic methodology (Intellect Books, Sept. 2016). Research-based theatre, an umbrella term for the various uses of theatre in research, is an emerging methodology for engaging in scholarly work. Drawing from theatre, arts-based, and qualitative research, this artistic approach engages researchers and audiences in critical and empathetic explorations. Weaving theatre in research allows for the complexities of human subjects to be represented more fully.
