Gut microbiota as a driver of epithelial physiology
- 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Following a descriptive phase and attempts at correlating gut microbiota composition with health and disease, the time has come to strengthen the cellular microbiology; deciphering the molecular cross-talk characterizing the microbiota in symbiotic interaction with the gut epithelium. We will address two issues: how the microbiota affects epithelial regeneration by directly dialoguing with intestinal stem cells, and how the microbiota affects absorption of lipids, a key element of nutrition in infants and children.
