Illusions of Control

Jan 29, 2020

The Cinematheque is screening 2017 Wall Scholar Shannon Walsh’s documentary Illusions of Control. The documentary tells five stories of people creating new and surprising relationships within human damaged landscapes such as clear-cuts, decommissioned mines, deserts and nuclear contamination zones.

The documentary isn’t out to solve humanity’s pressing problems but to chronicle the determination and resilience, asking how we maintain hope or optimism in the face of crisis. The event will include a Q&A with filmaker Shannon Walsh. Walsh completed research and filming of this documentary during her time as a Wall Scholar.
