The 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation has prompted a national dialogue on the nature of our country, its history, and the promise and challenges of the future. As part of this national conversation, the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies at UBC has partnered with the Royal Society of Canada to hold a public discussion about Canada’s Constitution and its relevance to the key issues of our country in 2017. Five leading thinkers will comment on our Constitution, using the critical lenses of Indigenous rights, environmentalism and social justice. The conversation will highlight specific areas where Constitutional progress is needed to support our country’s evolution towards greater equality, inclusion, and justice.
