Urban Myths for the Third Millennium

Oct 28, 2015

The next Peter Wall Institute Faculty Associate Dinner Forum is on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Please join us for this special event organized by Dr. Hallie Marshall, UBC Theatre & Film, featuring a poetry performance led by Peter Wall Visiting Artist, Helen Eastman, writer and director of theatre and opera, London, UK.
“Urban Myths for the Third Millennium”  The artistic director of Live Canon, Helen Eastman, and one of its key performers, Helena Johnson, will be collaborating with UBC performers to create a unique Live Canon-style poetry performance—the first such event in North America. They will draw on chorus work, from Greek tragedy to Lecoq, to explore contemporary texts including poetry and journalism. The resulting performance will be a riot of language and a probing exploration of what chorus can mean in the third millennium.
Please join us at the Peter Wall Institute Conference Room for pre-dinner refreshments at 6:00 pm. The performance will begin at 6:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm.
The partially subsidized cost of food and wine is $25 per person. See menu here.
If you plan to attend, please register via our online e-Registration and payment system by 9:00 am, Friday, October 23.  This is also the last date to cancel your booking, at no cost, should you need to do so.Peter Wall Institute, Conference Room 207
