Building the Brain: Marrying Engineering and Medicine | Vikramaditya Yadav

Alzheimer’s disease is slowly strangling society. Managing the disease is expected to cost Canada nearly $300 billion each year by 2040. There are no cures, chiefly because the pharmaceutical industry lacks efficient screening platforms. In this talk, Prof. Vikramaditya Yadav describes an innovative approach that marries engineering and medicine for the manufacture of miniaturized organs for drug screening. This biomanufacturing platform will open new frontiers in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
