Designing Wisdom: Making Change Makers
Wisdom involves knowledge, but it comes from experience. How can institutions be designed, not only to teach knowledge, but also to create the experiences through which wisdom might be attained? Can people be taught to be wise practitioners? In this talk, International Visiting Research Scholar Professor Ken Sharpe and Wall Associate, Prof. Max Cameron discuss the concrete cases of system change arising from practice that they plan to explore through a series of workshops and conversations during Ken’s visit to the University of British Columbia as a Peter Wall Institute International Visiting Research Scholar.
Kenneth E. Sharpe, is a PWIAS International Visiting Research Scholar and the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Political Science at Swarthmore College.
Max Cameron is Professor of Political Science and the Director of the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions at UBC.
This talk was recorded at a Peter Wall Institute Faculty Associate dinner forum on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
