Marciely Tupari at COP27

“I’m going to talk about the carbon credit issue. Often, the way they are bringing it into the Indigenous communities is not really the way that we, as Indigenous peoples, want to implement it within our communities. (…) We don’t want them bringing it from the top down”

Marciely Tupari

PWIAS and UBC Climate Hub partnered to document critically-engaged voices at COP27, especially Indigenous voices. These videos were recorded by Indigenous youth communicator Isaka Huni Kui, from the Huni Kui delegation at COP27, led by Chief Ninawa Huni Kui, Wall International Indigenous Scholar at UBC.

In this video, Marciely Tupari of the Tupari people shares her story.
