If we want to get serious about emissions, we have to look at trucking
September 25, 2019

In British Columbia, transporting freight on the road contributes to about 13 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions. The province has set a target to slash its total emissions from all sources by 80 percent by 2050. To meet that, the trucking sector will have to cut its emissions by 64 percent by 2040.
Walter Merida, a 2017 Wall Scholar, was cited by the Globe and Mail about the effects of the trucking industry on greenhouse gas emissions. Merida suggests the industry looks toward battery-powered semi-trucks.
