Harriet Friedmann

Harriet Friedmann is a Professor Emeritus of Sociology at University of Toronto and was a Visiting Professor of Agrarian, Food and Environmental Studies at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Hague). She has served as Chair of the Political Economy of the World System Section of the American Sociological Association, and has published widely in international journals on topics related to the international political economy of food and agriculture. Her interests include multi-scalar politics of change, adaptive governance, and health, all in connection to food and farming.
