Critical Care Doctor at the University of Alberta Hospital, Dr. Brindley is eager to increase the public understanding and debate around acute care medicine: its promise and pitfalls.
He is a tenured Professor at the University of Alberta in Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesiology, and Medical Ethics with two honorary fellowships. Dr. Brindley has published over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 30 book chapters, and 100 other articles including regular opinion pieces (including for the British Medical Journal), but is proudest of a published poem. He has written one book and has one more under way. He's delivered invited lectures in 14 countries including approximately 500 invited presentations and 10 named lectures.
As a Wall Visiting Scholar (2020-21), Dr. Brindley is working on several research projects aimed at increasing the public understanding of intensive care medicine – a topic of growing interest due to COVID-19. He is also writing a book on medical culture, burnout, resilience and crisis management.
