Bonnie Bassler: "The Secret, Social Lives of Bacteria" | Spring 2015 Wall Exchange
Get the full story at:
Bonnie Bassler is a molecular biologist at Princeton University who is known as “the Bacteria Whisperer.” She has discovered how bacteria talk to one another; a process called “quorum sensing,” which allows bacteria to work together and control bacterial virulence. Dr. Bassler works on ways to interfere with quorum sensing, which has ignited a flurry of new medical and drug research.
She was in Vancouver in late May 2015 as an International Visiting Research Scholar at the Peter Wall Institute and delivered the spring 2015 Wall Exchange lecture at the iconic Vogue Theatre in downtown Vancouver.
